Freedom of Conscience and Religion

Within the OMAC project, with the pupils of the third class we have developed the research of some Italian characters who contributed to the realisation of the liberty of conscience and religion, that are rights of all the human beings. For the research we used very important historical documents like the Declaration of Human and children rights and the Italian Constitution. Even the pupils created their own definition of liberty of conscience and religion. By studying some of these books and documents they discovered the name of Filippo Mazzei; students were impressed by his cultural influence on the main protagonists of the Declaration of American Independence, and especially by his attempts to assert the freedom and equality among people. Mazzei was a defender of freedom and human rights, and a leading figure in the Italian history.
