                                                                                                              Prof. Ernesta Palazzetti BULLYING

Unfortunately, there are always people who bully other people because they are not in a position to protect themselves. In the last few years a lot of attention has been given to the problem of bullying and people are more aware of the problem and how to deal with it.

WHAT TO DO?

Tell someone! Bullying thrives on silence: bullied people  often feel there is nothing to be gained by speaking out against someone who bullies others, so they allow them  to continue.

Ignore the bullying! Trying to ignore bullying doesn’t always work, but sometimes people get bored if you’re indifferent to their teasing.

Write down the occasions when you are bullied. This can help you if you decide to talk to someone about your situation. Write down details such as when and where you were bullied, what was said or done and who was doing it.

Remember, being bullied isn’t your fault! People who get bullied often think they have done something wrong, but it is the person doing the bullying who has the problem.

If you bully others, get help! You should talk to someone you trust to see how you can express what is going on in other ways before things go too far and a complaint is made against you.                                                                                                  Lumani Aljbin  II C

FRIENDSHIP

Friendship is important for everybody and  people who have lots of friends  live a better life, get ill less often, have more developed intellectual faculties and face difficulties better.

But, what should a friend be like?

A friend should be honest and loyal. He should be able to listen and participate in his friend’s joy and suffering, too. There are two types of friends: there are casual friends and close friends. With the latter, the relationship is stronger and more important. The best friend is the closest of your close friend. First friends can be made when the child is two years old.

Why do the friendships end?

A friendship can end for many reasons: the first reason is trust, if a friend betrays your confidence and doesn’t keep the secret; it could also end for jealousy or envy. In fact, a jealous or envious friend isn’t a real friend. Animals can be also great friends. For many people the companionship of an animal is very important.

Mahatma Gandhi

The Quit India speech  is a speech made by Mahatma Gandhi on August 8th 1942

“I know the British Government  will not be able to withhold freedom from us, when we have made enough self-sacrifice.  We must, therefore, purge ourselves of hatred.  Speaking for myself, I can say that I have never felt any hatred. As a matter of fact, I feel myself to be a greater friend of the British now than ever before.  One reason is that they are today in distress.  My very friendship, therefore, demands that I should try to save them from their mistakes.  As I view the situation, they are on the brink of an abyss.  It, therefore, becomes my duty to warn them of their danger even though it may, for the time being, anger them to the point of cutting off the friendly hand that is stretched out to help them. People may laugh, nevertheless that is my claim. At a time when I may have to launch the biggest struggle of my life, I may not harbor hatred against anybody”.

Martin Luther King

“I have a dream” by Martin Luther King

“I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. I have a dream today……………………little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with the little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers. I have a dream today.”

Casella di testo: “.......This hope is our hope. This is the faith that I go back to the south with. And with this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.

  Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow.

FREEDOM

Generally speaking  freedom  is like an eagle which ploughs the sky of our heart without landing, in sunshine or  rain, snow or wind, helping us up the hill of our soul again.

·         Freedom of thought  is  like an iron chain that no one can break.

·         Freedom of expression is like a jumper knitted by the knowledge of every-man.

·         Freedom of information is like a tree trying  with all its strength to defend itself from the greed of our cruel society.

« Life's but a walking shadow; a poor player,
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing. »
